Do you suffer from bloating?

It has been estimated that up to 1 in 4 people suffer from a digestive disorder. Common symptoms can include abdominal bloating, distension, flatulence and altered bowel habits, such as diarrhoea or constipation. If these symptoms have been occurring for a number of months, your doctor may diagnose IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome); after excluding other conditions such as coeliac disease. IBS is a functional gut disorder which can be chronically debilitating on both your health and social life. Fortunately for those suffering from IBS, the low FODMAPs diet has been proven to significantly improve undesirable symptoms.

Over my next few posts I will provide further information regarding the low FODMAPs diet, including common foods to avoid, as well as alternative allowed foods to include for a well balanced eating pattern.
